Nicholas Russell, a senior at Santa Clara, placed second in the men's 8-kilometer race in 24:10.7 at the West Coast Conference Cross Country Championships at Pepperdine's Alumni Park in Malibu, Calif. Russell helped Santa Clara secure third place with 66 points.
